Quad Cities Senior Pictures | Meet Tate

The day of Tate’s session, I packed my car as I typically would, but I also packed an eight foot ladder so that I could get some different perspective shots in regards to Tate’s basketball images.  Little did I know that by the end of the day we would end up climbing on top of an extremely high basketball hoop (Thanks, Max!!).

Meeting up with Tate and his amazing mom, Wendi made our afternoon absolutely fly by and before we knew it, the sun was setting and we were capturing the last images of the day.  Getting to know these two was one of the highlights of our Class of 2017 year and is one of my favorite parts about doing what I do.  I get to meet the most amazing people and leave photo sessions with new friends.  Tate is extremely handsome and my camera fell in love with him.  His fashion was on point, we were able to incorporate who he is into his session and his images turned out amazing.  Here is what Tate had to say about his senior photo experience with us-

“I wanted a mix of photos. I feel good when I am dressed up so that was a must. But, I also wanted images that captured who I am as a senior. Karen’s photos are a true reflection of my real self. I will look back at them with fond memories of this time in my life.  Karen and her assistant, Max, were amazing. They went to great lengths to get photos that were interesting. They really made me feel comfortable in front of the camera and as a bonus, Karen brought me my favorite candy and frap – couldn’t ask for anything better.  Just be yourself and have fun. I am a guy so I am not used to the whole photo shoot experience but it was worth it. Karen will take pictures that you are proud of.  I had five outfits and even threw some layers on some to get other looks.  You are on a time schedule so time traveling to different destinations and changing wardrobes can be a challenge. My biggest fear was that I would be uncomfortable. The outcome was the opposite. I chose locations that were important to me. And, I also chose one of Karen’s favorite spots to get some photos with my car. The whole shoot was memorable. I have photos that are awesome and my parents were thrilled. We also gained a new friend.  I love Moxie Design because of Karen’s enthusiasm. You should definitely have photos done by Moxie – Karen is an award winning photographer that goes out of her way to work with you. It is worth every penny.”

Tate’s advice to seniors who haven’t had their photos done yet?  “Best advice….be prepared, have a plan, and change quickly. All of my outfits were used and then Karen had me throw on a sweater in the last few minutes. Bring layers…it is easy!”  (and now for a quick note by Karen)  <— This may be the best piece of advice I’ve ever seen and I second it!  Having outfit changes is definitely key, but being able to change quickly and layer to give you extra options optimizes shooting time, meaning more amazing shots.  Nice job, Tate!

If Tate could choose one word to describe his experience with Moxie, he would choose – awesome.

Tate & Wendi – thanks so much for the kind words!  You guys are the best.

xoxo,

Karen
