Quad Cities Senior Pictures | Meet Raven

The day of Raven’s senior session I was glued to the weather channel pretty much until I left for her shoot.  What was frustrating was that every weather outlet you would go to would tell you something completely different about the forecast.  After seeing that the storms were spotty, we decided to move forward with the session, crossing our fingers for good weather.  We met up and started shooting – not even thirty minutes in, it started sprinkling and then raining, followed by lightening and thunder.  We got out of the rain and kept shooting under a picnic shelter and using a giant umbrella, which gave us the freedom to try a ton of different poses, lighting setups, etc. until the storm passed.  I can’t say enough about how amazing Raven was to work with.  The rain could have easily stopped the shoot, but Raven pushed on, unphased by the storms.  Here is what this beauty had to say about her session with Moxie-

“I loved my senior experience all the way down to the roots (literally) . I loved the rain messing up my hair and trying not to slip or get bitten by mosquitos! Karen just goes with the flow and does amazing work.  In my shoot I was hoping to achieve a classic bohemian look with denim and shades of cream and white.  I was afraid I wouldn’t look beautiful. And I was completely mistaken, I am overjoyed with the outcome of my shoot and it helped me feel more confident.  The only prop I had was I guess my afghan scarf. It had a lot of sentimental meaning after losing a member of my family than brought it home.  I went to Nahant Marsh and it was amazing!! My Mother and Grandmother kept boasting about the location so I just gave it a go. Although mosquitos were out for my life and it was quite humid Karen made everything piece together perfectly. Even when it rained. My most memorable moment was probably when it began to rain but we found a great spot at the Marsh, so Max had to follow me with and umbrella too keep me from getting wet and run away every time Karen snapped a shot.  I love Moxie Design because no matter how you think you look, Karen will make sure you feel beautiful and appreciated all while feeling comfortable with yourself.”

What is one piece of advice Raven has for other seniors getting their photos taken?   “Just relax. You might be doing a funky pose or have a weather forecast change, but it’s okay! Let you bodydo what’s natural and try to smile as much as possible because you will have so much more fun that way.”

If you could describe your overall senior session experience in one word, what would it be?
Unique
I cannot wait to see what Raven’s future holds.  You’re amazing, girl!!!
xoxo,
Karen
