Quad City Senior Photography | Meet Maddy

Meet Maddy. This Pleasant Valley senior and future George Washington University student was one of our Moxie models representing the Class of 2020. From our first shoot, which was an editorial with all of our models, to her last shoot (a winter snow mini session) Maddy was featured nationally within high school senior publications in each image that we posted! Also, Maddy was the winner of our annual thrift store challenge, so she is the Class of 2021 Moxie Cover girl, gracing the cover of Moxie magazine this year. Here is a little about what this supermodel had to say about her session with Moxie:

“My senior session was nothing less than amazing. Karen was so nice and made me feel so confident. I had a lot of different looks in mind and Karen made sure they all happened and added a little bit more to them to make it even more special. It was not nice weather on the day of my pictures but Karen and her amazing assistant Sam made it work and my pictures are nothing less than perfect. I honestly had no idea what to expect going into senior photos. When choosing who I would do them with, I saw how personalized every shot was with Moxie and I really liked knowing that my pictures would stand out. I had a lot of different ideas for my photos but Karen knew exactly how to capture every look I was going for. I was really worried I would just look and feel awkward but I couldn’t have been more wrong. Karen made me feel so confident and it felt amazing. High school is a really difficult time for girls and confidence but Karen made me feel so good about myself. It was also not awkward at all, it was really fun just talking to Karen and it’s amazing how relatable she is to truly anyone she meets. My favorite part was the personal touch Karen added. I loved my outfits but Karen knew exactly how to add accessories to them to make them pop even more. She also has such a good eye for location, we found a mirror and I never thought to use it but Karen took one of my favorite photos with it. Also Karen was open to every idea I had! I wasn’t sure about asking but I asked if we could take a shot in the middle of the road, next thing I know Karen is laying in the middle of the street. I shot in downtown Davenport and at the Davenport Country Club. Karen was so good at spotting different locations and areas that I would’ve never thought of for a picture. I really wanted to bring my dog and get a few pictures with him. I love Rizzo a lot but he was also 2 years old at the time and had A LOT of energy. I felt so bad because he would not sit still but Karen still made it work! We ended up getting some really cute photos with him. It was so fun!! I hope all my friends get to feel this special with their senior photos.”

One piece of advice that Maddy has for other seniors getting their photos taken? “Make sure to go to someone who will make you feel special. I’m so happy I chose Karen at Moxie because she not only made me feel so confident but she also took every style of picture I could think of. They looked so good and I’m so happy with my experience and will probably be back in four years for my college graduation.”

If she could describe her overall senior session experience in one word, she would choose  “magical.”

I can’t finish this blog post without a shout out to my hair and makeup geniuses at Haus of Heir boutique salon in Davenport – you guys are amazing!

Thank you for letting us be a part of your senior year, Maddy!! I can’t wait to see what your amazing future holds!!

xoxo,

Karen
