Quad City Senior Photography | Meet Christin

Meet Christin. This stunning Pleasant Valley senior and soon to be Grinnell freshman was an absolute blast to work with. I had worked with her sister, Emma a few years back, so I already knew we would have fun, but Christin surpassed any expectation of awesomeness that we had and her three hour session absolutely flew by. Because I already knew Christin’s family, I suggested some locations that I wouldn’t typically, as they were a bit off the beaten path, but they rolled with all of the punches and I was so excited that Christin was up for anything. Will you climb these stairs? Will you sit (along the side of a busy road) in this semi shady flower field? Will you get into this metal statue? Always, Christin would respond with “sure” or “of course,” which makes my job so much fun. I could go on and on about how much I love Christin and her entire family, but there are so many beautiful photos of her that I should cut this short so you can get to seeing them!

Here is a little about what Christin had to say about her session with Moxie: “My overall senior photo experience was amazing!! I was really nervous going into it to be in front of the camera, but Karen made it so easy. She made me feel confident and relaxed. I loved every minute of my session and I wish I could do it all again!! I wanted to create a look that was really fitting to my personal style. I feel I was able to capture my usual look and Haus of Hair did an amazing job doing my make up while still making me look like myself. I was worried about being uncomfortable in front of the camera and being too stiff, not knowing how to pose and looking awkward. Karen helped me forget about all these worries and my photos ended up being exactly how I wanted them to be. My favorite part was laughing and joking around with Karen, her assistant, and my family. We all had a great time telling stories having fun. I loved the locations that Karen chose for my shoot. I wouldn’t expect the locations to turn out as beautifully as they did because of the part of town we were in, but she was able to find such beautiful locations for my pictures. My favorite location was in front of a yellow door in a remote location. The most memorable moment of my session was walking across uneven ground and up a hill to get to a flower patch in front of a factory building. We took the pictures as cars were flying by on the road next to us. It was amazing that Karen was able to find such a beautiful location! I will always remember my experience with Moxie. I had so much fun getting my hair and makeup done as part of the package. Moxie made me feel special all day and helped me feel beautiful. I love Moxie Design because their photos are absolutely beautiful!!

One piece of advice that Christin has for other seniors getting their photos taken? “I would recommend all seniors to go to Moxie Design to get their photos done. I would also recommend trying to find someone who will make the shoot fun for you, and Karen will absolutely do that.”

If she could describe her overall senior session experience in one word, she would choose  “memorable.”

I can’t finish this blog post without a shout out to my hair and makeup geniuses at Haus of Heir boutique salon in Davenport – you guys are amazing!

Thank you for letting us be a part of your senior year, Christin!

xoxo,

Karen
