Quad Cities Senior Pictures | Meet Arra

Meet Arra.
This Class of 2022 Moxie model and I met a few years ago during her brother’s senior session on the PV track. I was SO EXCITED when she applied to be a part of our model team because I remembered how hilarious and beautiful and sweet she was and I couldn’t wait to work with her!  Sometimes you meet people and it’s just like they are immediate family and that is what the session was like with Arra and her mom Amber.  We laughed SO HARD, so many times, without which, we could have been miserable in the heat and rain.  We started off Arra’s senior session on an unseasonably warm day in the gym at her high school and it was insanely HOT in there.  After that, we headed downtown and were able to shoot a few pictures at the Current Hotel and Up Sky Bar, followed by some spots downtown Davenport, where we encountered a rainstorm.  This easily could have derailed the session, but Arra’s positive attitude continued throughout the day and we used the rainstorm to create a really cool photo with an umbrella.  We then ended the night on the Mississippi River with sparklers that took forever to get lit – and when I say forever, I don’t mean a minute or two.  It was really windy because of the storm that had blown through and we were trying to use a lighter that wouldn’t seem to spark. After two lighters and endless matches, we finally got them lit and captured some beautiful sparkler images on the water.

Here is a little about what Arra had to say about her session with Moxie:
“I had a blast working with Karen and Sam. They made my session so enjoyable with their fun ideas and great personalities. I wanted Karen to capture pictures of me that were the closest to reflecting my everyday life. Because of this, style wise I chose a more casual natural look.  I was concerned about the weather. It was supposed to be really hot, and there was a chance of rain. Well, it was really hot, but Karen did a great job of keeping me from breaking out into a sweat. It also rained briefly, but that didn’t keep Karen from being creative inside a parking garage while it passed, and also grabbing the umbrella that happened to go perfectly with the outfit I was wearing, to capture some fun pictures out in the street.  Oh my goodness, we had so much fun…I loved every part. I’d have to say we laughed pretty hard inside the elevator at the hotel headed to the rooftop for some fun shots. Karen is so much fun, and she is so good at what she does. She is available if you need help with what to wear, and will happily answer all of your questions. Our time together went by so quickly because we were having so much fun. Karen is passionate about creating the perfect shots that compliment each location. My senior session is something I will never forget, and I am so thankful to have so many amazing pictures to remind me of our time together.”

One piece of advice that Arra has for other seniors getting their photos taken?  “Have fun, and don’t stress out about it.” <— YESSS!! Great advice, Arra!

If she could describe her overall senior session experience in one word, she would choose  “delightful.”

Thank you for being such an amazing human being, Arra!!

xoxo,

Karen
