Quad Cities Senior Photography | Meet Luke

Meet Luke. This Orion senior and I met up last fall on an absolutely freezing cold and windy day at his family’s farm. Luke didn’t let the weather get to him for even one second. I remember asking him multiple times if he needed to warm up or put on a jacket and he would just look at me and shake his head no, without hesitation. Meanwhile, Sam and I are in parkas and winter hats with scarves and gloves!! One of my favorite elements of sessions is when we are able to incorporate locations that have a special meaning to our senior and their family. Their farm is absolutely breathtaking and had the most amazing sky views and I really enjoyed getting to meet Luke’s family since we were at his home for the photo session. We ended the night at the wrestling room at Orion High School and I absolutely loved seeing Luke in his element.

Here is a little about what Luke had to say about his session with Moxie: “Karen did a great job making me feel comfortable. She had really good ideas including all of the trucks and our large tractor. We also took some wrestling photos which really turned out cool! I wanted mostly outdoor photos on our farm. I like trucks and tractors, so I knew that had to be a main focus. I guess you would say the look I wanted was casual / rugged. Karen really brought out the best in me while featuring what I like. I didn’t want my photos to look the same as everyone else’s senior pics. I wanted something unique and that showed my interests. Without a doubt, she did just that. I live on a farm that has been in my family for over 100 years. I love agriculture and driving tractors; helping out on the farm. I knew I wanted to incorporate my involvement with FFA, the farm, tractors and trucks. We were able to do all of this in different spots to get totally different looks. Wrestling is my favorite sport, so I also wanted to get photos in the wrestling room at school. Karen thought of the locker room photos too, which turned out way better than I imagined they would. Getting to incorporate my cowboy hat into some of the photos was cool. Karen also kept saying “diesel” when she wanted a good smile. That was pretty funny. I really don’t like getting my picture taken, but Karen made it fun and I ended up with some really cool Senior pics.

One piece of advice that Luke has for other seniors getting their photos taken? “Relax and trust her. She’s pretty cool and even though you may think some of the poses are weird, the pictures end up being pretty sweet.” (I’m cracking up right now!! Luke, you are awesome! Thanks for the good advice for my future seniors)!!

If he could describe his overall senior session experience in one word, he would choose  “Five-Star”

Thank you for letting us be a part of your senior year, Luke!!

xoxo,

Karen
