Last fall, Cassidy was my last shoot of the season and talk about going out with a bang! This girl showed up ready to WWWEEERRRKKKKK it. It was a chilly October afternoon, which was absolutely perfect for all of Cassidy’s wardrobe looks. We spent the day laughing together all the while capturing some awesome photos. I have to brag on Cassidy a bit in that every image of her that I have put up on social media has been featured nationally. I mean, does it get more amazing than that?

Here is a little about what Cassidy had to say about her session with Moxie:
“I had SOOO much fun during my session with Karen. I would highly recommend her to do your senior photos, she makes you feel like what your doing natural and easy. I wish I could have the opportunity to shoot with her again! It was SOO MUCH FUN! My biggest fear going into my session was that it was just totally be awkward the entire time! It actually turned out the opposite!  My favorite part of the session was being able to shoot in all the different locations and being able to talk to Karen and feeling so comfortable with her and Max! I love Moxie Design because everyone is so nice and caring who works with Karen and the overall experience was absolutely amazing! I would totally tell anyone that they should look into Moxie – It was so much fun to work with Karen and her team.  ”

One piece of advice that Cassidy has for other seniors getting their photos taken? ” Just be natural and don’t be scared going into the shoot because there is absolutely nothing to be scared of!”

Meet Kayla. This absolutely gorgeous girl was SO. MUCH. FUN. to shoot with! We met up on a day that was less than desirable weather wise – constant rain and ridiculous winds were in full effect. I can’t even tell you how proud I am of Kayla for working through the weather and absolutely rocking her session like a supermodel. We have been honored to have multiple images from Kayla’s session featured on a national level! We were able to finish our outdoor photos within a minute of a hurricane type storm rolling in – I don’t know that I’ve ever seen rain quite like this before in the midwest – it was CRAZY!

Here is a little about what Kayla had to say about her session with Moxie:
“I had an amazing time with an amazing photographer. Karen made me feel like a true model and allowed me to express myself throughout my whole shoot. I was going for a very colorful look with lots of different flowers and trees. I wanted the background to be really pretty. I was a bit worried that I wouldn’t like the pictures because I am so picky, but Karen worked with my style and I loved them!  My favorite part of my experience was running from the rain all night. We had to run through pouring rain at the end, but we never stopped laughing and the pictures were well worth it.  The most memorable moment of my session was when we took a really good photo right after it stopped raining and Karen showed me the picture and I actually said I liked it. I was surprised because I’m usually very hard on myself and I was actually happy with the outcome which gave me confidence for the rest of the photo shoot.  I would tell anyone that they should definitely take their senior photos with Moxie Design! It is a fun experience that I will always remember and I will always have amazing pictures to look back on. I love Moxie Design because Karen is so sweet and very good at her job.”

One piece of advice that Kayla has for other seniors getting their photos taken? “I would advise seniors to get out of their comfort zone and have fun with their session! Also, be confident because everyone is beautiful and Moxie Design helps seniors to look great in their photos.”

Meet Sam.
This beautiful soon to be Moline High School graduate and I met up last fall for her senior session. I will never forget that day – it was cold and super windy (see photo below for proof of how windy it actually was) and Sam showed up looking like an absolute supermodel. During a day where the weather could have ended the session before it began, Sam took the opposite approach and said “Let’s do this!” and I absolutely love that about her. Fast forward six months and a couple twists of fate later and this awesome girl is now my full time photo assistant. I can’t say enough about what an amazing person she is and I am super lucky to call her my teammate and friend! We may even have a little editorial project in the works where you will get to see her in front of the camera again soon. Stay tuned…

Here is a little about what Sam had to say about her session with Moxie: “My overall senior photo session experience was great! It was super laid back and easy going. I was super worried about posing and pretty much how to act around Karen and Sydney but they both worked with posing me and I was able to be myself so it was super fun!  My  favorite part of the session was getting to know different techniques and shooting ideas! Also, getting to know Karen and Sydney was an amazing situation!  We started at Prospect Park, mainly because my mom wanted some fall leaves and park settings. I did two looks at the park and the pictures from each turned out great! After the park, we drove downtown Moline and shot around some old brick buildings for a more urban and edgy look. Finally, we finished at the WIU Quad Cities campus and walked around and got some very fun shots!  As great as the session itself was, I would have to say that the most memorable moment was near the end when Karen fell down some stairs and broke her nose. That was kind of terrifying!  Overall, my senior session was one of the best experiences I have ever been a part of with one of the most laid back and open minded photographers in the Quad Cities!  I love Moxie Design because they make your dreams become a reality!”

One piece of advice that she has for other seniors getting their photos taken? “Don’t ever get scared about your outfits, weather, posing, etc. Karen will make sure you feel comfortable and beautiful in everything you choose! Make the most out of everything and you will have a great time!”

If she could describe her overall senior session experience in one word, she would choose  “exceptional.”

If you are wondering if I actually broke my nose during Sam’s session, it is absolutely true. If you know me whatsoever, you know that I am one of the most accident prone, uncoordinated people in history. After I fell down the steps and collected myself, we continued shooting because the sunset colors were unbelievable. 🙂

Meet Kassidy.
This gorgeous Bettendorf senior was so much fun to work with and was up for any crazy idea that I would throw her way. We started out at a park setting with her adorable pup and then made our way downtown for some urban and modern photos. The one thing that I will never forget about Kassidy’s session was when she put on her yellow dress – the last look of the day. She looked absolutely gorgeous and then nailed every action or pose like a supermodel. She runway walked, she danced in the street – and one of the images we captured during her shoot has been nationally featured multiple times. Get it, girl!!

Here is a little about what Kassidy had to say about her session with Moxie: “My overall senior photo session experience was perfect! Karen made me feel so comfortable, her assistant, Max, definitely made my session more fun! I brought my dog to the shoot and even though he would not sit still Karen still managed to capture the most adorable photos! Karen will go anywhere to capture a great photo and when she finds a pose she likes she will take endless pictures of you to make sure it’s perfect. It’s safe to say that my session was nothing short of fabulous! My biggest feat about the photoshoot was that I would look awkward in the photos, but Karen did an amazing job of making everything look and feel natural. I honestly cannot pick a favorite part of my Moxie Senior Experience because Karen made everything fantastic! The most memorable moment of my session was probably dancing in the middle of the street. I was a little awkward at first, but Karen’s assistant started dancing with me and made it fun! We had many people staring at us, but the picture turned out great! My experience with Moxie was an absolute blast! Karen and her assistant, Max made the photoshoot SO fun, and Karen definitely made me feel comfortable throughout the entire session!  Karen was so helpful when it came to outfit choices, she made me feel comfortable during my shoot, and my photos turned out AMAZING!”

One piece of advice that Kassidy has for other seniors getting their photos taken? “Advice that I have for other seniors getting your senior photos taken is to have fun throughout you shoot because the pictures will turn out better and it makes the overall session fun!”

Meet Sydney. This beautiful Alleman Senior and future University of Tampa student was so fun to work with! We had a warm summer day to shoot Sydney’s session and I’ll never forget a moment toward the end of her session. We had just finished up our volleyball images at the Alleman gym and went to go across the street for one final outdoor look – but it was absolutely pouring outside. We managed to find an indoor location to finish up her session and when we came outside the skies were clear and we were able to capture some really cool night images.

Here is a little about what Sydney had to say about her session with Moxie: “My senior session with Moxie was great! I loved my photos, especially my volleyball ones! I wanted my volleyball photos to be “fierce” and my other pictures to be classy and happy! My favorite part of the session was going from location to location and changing outfits. It was just a fun experience! I would say that my most memorable moment of the shoot was going to my high school and taking my volleyball pictures. It was very surreal… “I’m finally a senior” moment! Karen and Sydney made me feel so beautiful. I was nervous about my shoot, but they were so encouraging and I felt comfortable very quickly!”

One piece of advice that Sydney has for other seniors getting their photos taken? “Don’t worry and just let go and have fun. When you have fun, you’re truly happy and your photos will turn out better!”

Meet the beautiful Riley. This Geneseo senior (and future Elementary Education teacher) and I met up on a warm day last August. I love shooting at locations that are off of the beaten photography path and we were able to check Quad City International Airport off of my bucket list. We were able to get TSA approval to shoot in and around the airport for an hour, which made Riley’s shoot truly one of a kind. Because we were looking for a second location that was close to the airport, we ended up shooting in the back of Trinity’s Moline campus around their pond, which ended up as a perfect backdrop.

Here is a little about what this gorgeous girl had to say about her session with Moxie: “It was an incredible experience! From the first location to the next Karen’s ability to make me feel so in a near perfect element was more than I could ask for! The atmosphere during the extent of this shoot was absolutely amazing! My favorite part was being able to use such random locations such as the airport and the gardens at the hospital because who knew that Karen could make those locations into something beyond extraordinary.  There wasn’t just one memorable part of my senior experience, the whole day was a once in a lifetime opportunity. Choose Moxie!! Karen will make you feel like a Rockstar during the shoot! Karen makes your whole experience is wonderful! The moment you meet her, she will immediately make you feel so comfortable!” 

One piece of advice that Riley has for other seniors getting their photos taken? “Relax! Your portraits will turn out great with Karen behind the lens.”

Meet Alex.
This Pleasant Valley senior was SO. MUCH. FUN. to work with – I can still remember his shoot like it was yesterday. It was an abnormally hot day in Iowa, but we had an absolute blast. Syd and I got to hear some amazing vocal skills from Alex (I mean, listening to live Opera vocal stylings isn’t a norm, but was a huge perk for this afternoon). I remember getting goosebumps listening to Alex sing and I seriously think he is going to take the world by storm with his God given singing ability. In addition to being musically talented and uber handsome, Alex had Syd and I laughing for basically his entire session. Not just a casual chuckle here and there, but tear forming laughs that made our sides ache. I also have to give him a shout out to Alex because I was obsessing over his Whitney tshirt!! I love when my job brings me to meet fantastic seniors and their parents and Alex and his mom are a wonderful example of that.

Here is a little about what Alex had to say about his session with Moxie: “My senior shoot was incredible. I felt amazing during the session, and as someone who doesn’t have the best self-esteem, it was such a great feeling to feel confident in myself. I wanted something a little different. My pride pictures were some of my favorites (you can tell in my facial expressions haha) and I was so happy that they turned out so well! Karen and her assistant were so very great at helping me relax, which was one of my biggest worries. I felt so at ease during my session, which allowed me to take the best pictures I could. The most memorable part of the session were the jokes we shared, mostly, which added to the feeling of relaxation that I felt during the session. We hadn’t been shooting for more than five minutes and I already felt as though we’d known each other for several years. Karen is so good at what she does! Not only does she take excellent pictures, but she is a great person and helped me feel comfortable during my session and she is a fantastic human being.

One piece of advice that Alex has for other seniors getting their photos taken? “Don’t be afraid to showcase what makes you who you are in your senior pictures. I walked into my photoshoot with the idea of doing a pride theme with a bit of apprehension, but I’m so happy with how they turned out.”

Meet Macy.
We met up with this Pleasant Valley senior on a warm summer afternoon and I felt like we were working with a supermodel. In addition to being absolutely gorgeous, Macy is one of those girls that you just naturally enjoy being around. Syd and I shared a lot of laughs with her and her Grandma Bev (shout out to Grandma Bev for being SUPER AWESOME too)!!

“My overall senior photo session experience was like nothing I have ever experienced! It was so much fun, I never wanted it to end! I was looking for something natural, nothing unusual that I wouldn’t normally do. I also knew I wanted pictures doing my favorite activity, playing basketball. My favorite part of the afternoon would have to be the smiles, the laughs, the incredible way that Karen and Sydney made me feel like the most beautiful, special young lady in the world. Karen is an amazing photographer who made it really fun. She is really helpful and knew what to say and do to make me comfortable. I love Moxie Design because Karen is so nice. It was such an overall fun experience.”

One piece of advice that Macy has for other seniors getting their photos taken? “Have fun with it! Don’t take it too seriously.”

Meet Lauren.
I don’t even know where to begin in talking about this Pleasant Valley beauty. I love this girl (and her amazing mom)! The day of Lauren’s session was rainy on and off but we decided that we would try to forge ahead when we got a break in the clouds while she was getting her hair and makeup done. When I showed up to meet her, it started pouring again, so we averted and found an indoor location to start her session. Did Lauren let this get her down? Not for even one second. When we ventured outdoors, it literally rained on and off for her entire shoot. We used umbrellas, reflectors as a shelter from the storm and shot in locations that we typically wouldn’t have based on the weather. The result? Some of my favorite images from the entire year. I love the fact that Lauren is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside and that her beautiful smile never left her face (except when she was giving me her supermodel fierce look).

Here is a little about what Lauren had to say about her session with Moxie: “Many of my friends had taken their senior pictures with Karen, and had nothing but positive things to say about working with her. To say my standards were high is an understatement, but to say she exceeded them is an even bigger understatement. It was storming outside while I was getting my hair and makeup done so I was so nervous. When Karen arrived at Haus of Heir she made sure to tell me everything would work out and if we had to reschedule it would be no problem. Once we started taking pictures and talking with Karen and Sydney I had so much fun. Her and Sydney both gave only positive vibes. They are both so helpful in making sure you are comfortable in front of the camera and picking poses that represent your personality.  I don’t have the girliest personality so I was really worried that I was going to be out of my element while in make up and in front of the camera. From the beginning, the stylists at Haus of Heir pumped me up and made me excited for the shoot. They were more than willing to work with the fact that I wasn’t comfortable wearing make up. It was obvious they wanted me to be 100% happy with how I looked. Karen and Syd teamed up with the Haus of Heir staff ensures confidence levels that are through the roof even if you are totally out of your element.  My favorite part was whenever Karen would say “Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes”, “OMG so gorgeous girl”, or “ohh, yes girl!” Karen makes you feel so confident in front of the camera and hearing her compliments always put an even bigger smile on my face. Thus, these comments led to MANY favorite parts of the shoot. 
I was in a boot when I was taking senior pictures, but we obviously didn’t want a boot in the pictures. However, I could barely walk on my foot, let alone with heels on. I was constantly tripping over something and holding onto Karen, Syd or my mom. Once we got to the pool, I wanted a picture jumping into the water, which is an extremely hard shot to time perfectly. I ended up having to jump into the water over and over on one foot and everyone was just laughing at me. It was so funny and felt like I was goofing off with my best friends.  If I were telling my best friend about Moxie, I would say that you have to do it. Not only is it one of my favorite senior year memories, but Karen is the best person for the job. My mom and I actually got tears in our eyes during the slideshow reveal because we were amazed with her work. Then I cried once we were in the car because I wasn’t going to get to see Karen again. Getting your senior pictures taken by the Moxie Design is worth it just to get to hang out with Karen for the night. I love Moxie Design because Karen and her staff are genuine, kind, and the best in the business. 

One piece of advice that Lauren has for other seniors getting their photos taken? ” I would say choose outfits and locations that reflect your personality. No matter what you choose, Karen’s ideas and talent will make it look amazing, and you will be much more comfortable and confident while shooting.”

If she could describe her overall senior session experience in one word, she would choose  “speechless”

Meet Brooke.
This Bettendorf beauty has the MOST. GORGEOUS. EYES.
We had an absolute blast the afternoon of Brooke’s session. I admit, I regularly suggest / ask my seniors to do some crazy things to get an awesome or unique image. The thing that I remember most about Brooke is how willing she was to do anything that I mentioned. Lay in the middle of the street? Sure! You want me to flip my hair a dozen times so we could get an amazing shot? No problem! Her amazing attitude, beautiful smile and awesome wardrobe choices made for some awesome images. I really enjoyed getting to know Brooke during her shoot and I can’t wait to see what her future holds!

Here is a little about what she had to say about her session with Moxie:
“My senior experience with Moxie Design was phenomenal! I felt so comfortable in front of the camera and Karen is so much fun to be with!  I really wanted to showcase who I am and what I like to do. I was so worried about not knowing what to do in front of the camera, but Karen’s ideas were so fun and unique.  I can’t even choose a favorite part, my whole Moxie Senior Experience was one I will never forget! The memories we made are priceless! The laughs and giggles we had were probably the best part! Karen’s ideas are so fun and she is so friendly!!  I love Moxie Design because Karen made me feel so confident and comfortable in front of the camera!”

Meet Jessie. I have loved having this Geneseo girl as a part of the Class of 2019 Moxie Model Team! Jessie has a beautiful smile that is contagious and is just so sweet and easy to get to know. We had a warm day for her senior session and we traveled to a bunch of cool spots to capture things that were important to her. One moment that I distinctly remember during her session was when we were at Milltown Coffee. I was outside, along River Drive, and I was trying to talk to her through the glass – but we couldn’t understand what the other person was saying and we both ended up cracking up! Here is a little about what Jessie had to say about her session with Moxie:

“My experience with Moxie Design was incredible. I didn’t really expect everything that came with being a model and I loved it. I really enjoyed getting to know Karen and how she can capture anything. I was very comfortable in my pictures and Karen got all my good angles!  I wanted to show some of my interests in the shoot. We took pictures at Milltown Coffee, to show my coffee obsession. I also wanted to take pictures on the soccer field because soccer had been a big part of my life since I was 5.
My biggest fear was not looking like myself in my pictures. When going to Haus of Heir, I thought I wasn’t going to have much control over my makeup look. Come to find out, I had control over everything! They made me look amazing and my pictures turned out great. My favorite part of the Moxie Senior Experience was the reveal session. I never expected my pictures to turn out so well. My mom and I had a really hard time choosing the photos because they were all so good.  The most memorable part of my Moxie session was changing my clothes in Karen’s pop up dressing room! I thought it was so funny! I had no where else to change so she saved the day and pulled out this tall green tent. It was a little bit tight, but it all worked out in the end. Moxie Design is awesome. You get to meet new people, become better at modeling with the help of Karen and her assistant Megan, and receive gorgeous pictures of yourself. I would suggest that anyone interested in Moxie to give it a shot, you won’t regret it. I love Moxie Design because it showed the best of me.”

One piece of advice that Jessie has for other seniors getting their photos taken? “Listen to what Karen and her assistant have to say. Their modeling tips will help a lot. Some of the poses might seem a little weird, but they turn out great. Also be sure to have fun! Meet Cole. This Orion senior was so much fun during his session and was up for any crazy idea that I would throw at him. We met up on a day where it was SUPER hot out, but Cole didn’t let that get to him for even one second. We were able to get some amazing images featuring some things that are a huge part of his life – Baseball, Hunting and Excavating. While we were extremely warm during his session, there was a zero percent chance of rain that day, so when we were traveling to our third and final location and it started to sprinkle, I was a little concerned. We waited it out for a few minutes and the sky turned this beautiful shade of pink and we were able to capture that for his baseball images. As soon as we finished shooting, a massive downpour started!! I loved that the whole family came with him and we got to get to know each other and share some laughs. Here is a little about what Cole had to say about his session with Moxie:

” I wanted to showcase who I am and the things I’m into with my senior pictures. I’m an avid hunter, I live for baseball and most of all I love to operate heavy equipment!  My senior photo experience was amazing! Karen made every location I wanted to use work. It was 90+ degrees on the day of my shoot and everyone was sweaty and miserable but Karen and her assistant knew how to make everything work and made me feel at ease. They even brought me cold water and a snack! It was amazing!!!! My favorite part of the day was getting to know Karen and her assistant – they were cracking me up – I had a great time. And we got it all done before a total down pour!!! The most memorable part of my session was when Karen was shooting me through the sight of my bow with a loaded arrow!!! She kept saying “we’re friends right?” She was amazing and that is one of my favorite pictures! If you want to feel like anything is possible with your senior pictures and know that your photographer is going to listen to your ideas and carry them out, Moxie Design is where to go! I love Moxie Design because they made my ideas come to life!”

One piece of advice that Cole has for other seniors getting their photos taken? ” Relax! No idea is dumb! Karen will find away to make anything work.”

Meet Makenzie.
This Geneseo girl is just as sweet as she is beautiful. We met up on a warm summer day and from the very first frame I knew that we were going to have a blast make some gorgeous images together. We were in a wooded field area during her session and the wind swept in at the perfect moment and I knew right then that we had just captured some serious magic. That image was nationally featured twice and is still one of my faves from the Class of 2019 season. Also, super shout out to both Makenzie and Haus of Heir for introducing me to Kevin Aucoin lip color. The shade that she wore in her images has become one of my fave lipsticks of all time!!

Here is a little about what Makenzie had to say about her session with Moxie: “I just wanted to be myself and highlight my true personality in a way that it would be displayed in my photos.  My senior session was unforgettable! Karen made me feel confident and beautiful! She’s absolutely amazing at what she does and I loved every single one of my images! I was worried I wasn’t going to know how to pose or what facial expressions to use. However, Karen made me feel confident and beautiful by making it an easy going and relaxed experience! My favorite part of my Moxie experience was gaining a level of confidence when getting photographed by Karen that I didn’t even know that I had!  I chose places with lots of natural elements such as water, trees, and flowers. I love the outdoors and spending time in nature therefore those elements played a role in the locations that I chose. The most memorable moment of my session was sharing laughs and getting to know Karen.  Working with Moxie Design is an incredible experience that you will never forget. Every single image is absolutely beautiful and you will leave your session feeling confident and amazing.”

Meet Leah.
This gorgeous Davenport West senior was a part of the Class of 2019 Model team and is the cover model for our Class of 2020 Moxie Magazine after getting over 1,200 votes on social media for our Thrift Store Challenge! Working with Leah was so easy – it was like we had known each other our entire lives. She comes alive in front of the camera and her wardrobe choices were absolutely on point. Leah had wanted to use a sunflower field in her images and the week prior we had been to a super popular one in Eldridge, where our cars nearly went into a ditch. I decided that we needed to scout a new spot and we found the perfect location, with gorgeous flowers that resulted in some amazing (and nationally featured) images.

Here is a little about what Leah had to say about her session with Moxie:
“I was going for a look that would describe who I was and how I will look back on my senior year. Personally, I wanted to acquire my sports, of course, but I also wanted to bring out the grunge, and girly style that I have.  My senior photo session with Karen was such a fun and awesome experience. I am so lucky I applied to be a 2019 senior model because the outcome of my experience and photo quality was unbelievable. I have pretty high standards when it comes to seeing pictures of myself and Karen did not let me down! My biggest fear follows the post-session. I was worried I wouldn’t like how I looked in certain photos and I wanted to be satisfied with myself. Moxie always reassured me of my confidence and really knew how to bring my ideas of my senior portraits to life. The outcome was relieving and I turned out to be very pleased with the results!
I love how outgoing Karen is and how smooth the entire day went. I appreciate her organization, but also her ability to make the experience fun. My ultimate favorite part about my Moxie Senior Experience was probably the feedback I got back afterwards. When I post my senior pictures and receive positive feedback, it makes me feel good about myself and then I can talk about Karen’s talent! The most memorable moment of my session was when Karen, her assistant, and I went down by the river to take fun pictures in the water. Turns out, by the water, it was extremely windy! Karen’s assistant actually fell over holding the light reflector because of the strong winds! It was quite the experience.

One piece of advice that Leah has for other seniors getting their photos taken? “Just be natural and to be themselves in front of the camera! The more comfortable you are in front of the camera, the better you feel about your experience!”

Meet Mariah. I had the pleasure of getting to know this beauty a couple of years ago at her sister’s senior photo session and since then, I have been waiting to get her in front of my camera. We met up on a perfect afternoon and this girl blew me away with her natural modeling talents. Not only is Mariah supermodel beautiful, but she has a heart of gold and is already making a huge name for herself with her contributions in Love Girls Magazine, captivating the world with her bowling skills and rockin’ it with a feature in Inspiring Teens Magazine. I am lucky to have been able to capture this amazing time in her life, but even more grateful to call her a friend. I cannot wait to see what your awesome future holds, my dear! Love you!

Here is a little about what Mariah had to say about her session with Moxie: ” I had two specific looks in mind. I wanted to represent my cultural background, Mexican and African America. My third was a more casual look but still extra like my personality.  Karen is so amazing that I never want to go to other photographers. I had known Karen previously from my older sisters senior pictures and knew what to expect in the photo shoot. But when you are in front of the camera you can be fearful of expectations. I’ve never felt so much confidence, this woman is magic with a camera.  My biggest fear was living up to my sister’s pictures, I obsessed over them and Karen’s work. Karen reminded me that I’m not my sister but I’m Mariah and to be confident in that. I get to use these amazing pictures in my portfolio and head shots. My favorite part was The official Moxie Reveal, I was so nervous how they would turn out from the model’s standpoint but getting that relief and confidence from Karen’s reassurance made it worth the nerves.   Aside from the photos, I remember the way Karen made me feel, having confidence in me and the conversations we had. Kindness goes a long way and makes a lasting impression.  Girl, I know it looks like a lot of money but, it’s worth it!! The pictures are everything you want and more and will be used for more than senior pictures and will forever be loved by your parents.  I love Moxie Design because I can call Karen a friend, the results are exactly as paid for and so much more.”

One piece of advice that she has for other seniors getting their photos taken? “Be yourself and unique as possible, try going outside the box and make sure you don’t regret not wearing what you want. Also, trust Karen -there is a reason she is recognized for her talents so much. “

Meet Adrea. We met up with this gorgeous Pleasant Valley senior on a warm summer day last year. Huge shout out to Adrea for putting up with my repetitive requests in the PV gym when we I was trying different lighting and angles “Can you dribble down the court one more time? (which meant six more times). Her images are so beautiful and incorporate the perfect mix of nature and urban settings.

Here is a little about what Adrea had to say about her session with Moxie: “I wanted more of a summery vibe, which is why I wore a lot of flower print stuff and I wanted to do the park as a setting. At the same point I wanted it to have some variation so I also wanted city spots.  My session was a very enjoyable and positive experience for me, and I just had a really great time and was really comfortable with Karen. I’ve always been a little more camera shy, but I think the girls at Moxie really made me feel comfortable and beautiful in my own skin and it felt natural shooting with them.   My favorite part of the experience was all the laughs that I had, and all the jokes Karen made. I think I enjoyed all of it just because of how fun the atmosphere was.  The most memorable moment of my session was probably how buggy it was, and I didn’t even realize all of the bugs or how bitten up I was getting because I was just enjoying my shoot so much.  Moxie Design does a great job making you feel comfortable and beautiful, and I would recommend everyone go to her for any senior photo shoots.  I love Moxie Design because of how fun Karen made my photo shoot and how she made everything just feel natural for me.”

Meet Mary.
This Alleman senior / Moxie model was so much fun to work with.  We had some clear cut ideas about what Mary wanted to do with her session – use balloons and a Twister game as props and shoot in a sunflower field.  The day we met up, the magic definitely started happening.  I remember when I had Mary continually walking, jumping and running in the middle of a country road and when we captured one specific image, I got goosebumps.  That photo is still one of my favorites from this year, hands down.  

Here is a little about what Mary’s mom Maggie had to say about her session with Moxie:  “We were looking for someone who could capture Mary’s personality and beauty in pictures.  Karen was simply amazing! Mary was so calm and natural for the pictures. From the moment we met Karen, she hugged us like we were family she has not seen in awhile.  I was worried Mary would want to see every picture immediate after and delete every single one as the session went on, that did not happen. Karen and her assistant had Mary so calm and relaxed during the entire session. Mary’s pictures turned out simply stunning.  Our favorite part was seeing Mary’s pictures for the first time. They were beautiful, there was no way to choose. I also love seeing all the pictures that Karen takes of the other seniors. She makes everyone look like a model and they are simply just having fun.  I would highly recommend Karen and Moxie. She is a professional and truly cares about the seniors and the pictures. So worth it!!  I love Moxie Design because Mary’s pictures are simply stunning.”

Meet Zach.
This Sherrard senior and soon to be Marine is one of the most hilarious and genuine people I’ve ever met.  His entire family is so amazing and so much fun to be around.  I can say, without hesitation, that during Zach’s session both Megan and myself were laughing so hard that our cheeks hurt and our sides ached.  Beyond being funny and handsome, Zach has a huge heart.  Meeting awesome people is one of the best perks of my job and Zach and his family are a classic example of just that.   I remember how terrible the mosquitos were during his session and we were drowning ourselves in deet, bug soother, but nothing seemed to do the trick.  Did Zach let that affect his positive attitude whatsoever?  Nope, he kept cracking the jokes and making us laugh.  I have to give Zach a shout out because one of his images from an editorial shoot that we did has received the most instagram votes in the history of Moxie Design (3,297 likes – I’m still speechless). 

Here is a little about what Zach’s awesome mom had to say about their experience with Moxie:  “Karen was awesome. She really brought Zach out of his shell. She had the places to get his pictures done that fit his personality.  My biggest fear in regards to the photo shoot was 
that Zach would not smile. Karen had him not only smiling in photos but posing and laughing.  My favorite part of our Moxie Senior Experience was the great relationship that Zach built with Karen and his pictures turned out amazing.  The most memorable moment of our session would have to be when Zach was laying down on a picnic table posing to get a reaction from Karen (which worked – it was hilarious) and who could forget his Pall Bearer pose?   If I were to tell my best friend about our experience with Moxie Design, I would say that it was amazing and worth every penny!  I love Moxie Design because of Karen!”
