Meet Anna. This Pleasant Valley beauty met up with Madeline and I last fall and we had so much fun during her session! I love when my sessions bring me to get to know wonderful people! During Anna’s session, we got to hang out with her mom, aunt and sister and we shared so many laughs – it was like we all had been friends for years. Anna’s locations were awesome and we were able to capture so much variety in her session – a creek and country spot, an urban area and then we ended the night on a golf course, which had sentimental meaning to Anna and her family, which is so special! One of her first teaser photos was published in Senior Szn Magazine – so exciting!!

Here is a little about what Anna had to say about her session with Moxie: “My photo sesh was WAY more fun than i thought it was going to be. I was nervous about formal pics but it ended up being a good time with lots of laughs. I was looking for natural shots with nature but I ended up really liking the city vibes as well that were recommended by Karen. I was worried it was going to be like going to a photo studio and fake smiling. It wasn’t like that at all. The different locations were cool and Karen made me feel so at ease. Karen and Madeline made it so easy, told me how to pose when I’m not naturally into that. We laughed a lot. She got some good shots with my dogs (which really weren’t well behaved) which made my day. The most memorable part of my session was that I had some of my senior pics taken on the golf course that I learned to play on when I was young. Just book your session with Moxie. The photos turned out SO good and it was a really fun experience. I love Moxie Design because they made me feel so comfortable.”

Meet Chloe. We met up with Chloe and her awesome mom, Katie, last summer and I was so excited for her shoot! I had worked with her sister a couple of years ago and so I knew we were going to have a blast during her sesh. Chloe is absolutely stunning – she has the most beautiful eyes and a smile that can light up any room she walks into. On top of being a supermodel, she is the sweetest! We met up at the most beautiful park setting and accidentally stumbled upon some sunflowers, where we took her first test shots of the day. I remember my mouth dropping to the floor – the first photo we took of her was absolute perfection! After meandering through a ton of beautiful park spots, we were able to get into the river for some really gorgeous sunset photos and then ended the night at PV on the football field to capture some cheer shots! Fun fact – Chloe’s teaser photo that I put up from the sunset location was published in the fall edition of Senior Szn Magazine!! So awesome!!

Here is a little about what Chloe had to say about her session with Moxie: “Working with Moxie for my senior session was an amazing experience. The entire time Karen made me feel so comfortable in front of the camera which helped me relax and have fun. I was going for a nature, earthy look that included water and a pretty sunset, with things that incorporated me, my styles, and my passions. I was very worried that I would be uncomfortable during my session, as soon as we got to our first location Karen was so welcoming. The entire time she was energetic and the best hype woman. My favorite part of my session was actually getting in the river at sunset to shoot some pics. We laughed the whole time and the sun set perfectly over the river which was the perfect background for an amazing outcome. My favorite photo from the session would be the ones where I was laying on my back and Karen shot from over me. The way my eyes and hair highlights pop in each of the photos was astonishing. The most memorable part of my session was connection and friendship with Karen. She always knew what you needed, when you needed it. She truly had an interest in getting to know me by asking questions about my life and bringing my favorite snacks. I am SO happy that I chose Moxie Design for my senior photos and recommend this to anyone looking for a memorable experience. Karen is the best! I love Moxie Design because they are the best around!”

Meet Fiona. We met up with this stunning Bettendorf senior last fall and I was so excited because Fiona wanted a unique photo experience – she wanted to incorporate an arcade and a cemetery in her locations, which I was really excited about because it would allow me to be a bit more creative than in our typical park/downtown settings. We immediately clicked with Fiona and her awesome mom, Sheila, when we kicked things off at the arcade. The staff at QC Entertainment was so incredible to work with – they even let us get inside of the life size bear claw machine! We got some really awesome stuff there before heading to our next spot – where the focus here was some graffiti! Fiona had brought along a beautiful dress and I wanted to get some classic beauty shots, so we were able to capture those at one of my favorite spots, the Axis hotel. We ended the night at sunset at the most beautiful cemetery, where we were able to overlook the entire QC. While we were there, we saw the most beautiful caterpillar! Of course, we had to take a quick break to say hi to our new little friend – it was really awesome. We had so much fun and shared so many laughs – it was a wonderful shoot!

“My senior photo session experience was amazing and so much fun! I was going for a beautiful and badass feel for my photos. My favorite part of the session was everything – it was all really fun! The most memorable part of my session was the caterpillar that we found. Working with Moxie was really fun, you should totally check it out! I love Moxie Design because Karen gave me my favorite snacks before the shoot so I was less nervous!”

Meet Jules. This Cambridge beauty was one of the models on our Class of 2025 Moxie crew so we have had the opportunity to work with her a couple of times over the past year! When I found out that Jules was wanting to incorporate a flower field in her session, I was so excited as I had just accidentally ran across the most gorgeous yellow flower field in the most random of places. I was so grateful that Jules and her awesome mom, Tonya trusted me on locations because her shots there turned out absolutely stunning! We were able to capture a bunch of spots with a nature feel and ended her shoot down along the river at sunset!

I’m not super comfortable in front of the camera but Karen and Madeline made me feel confident and relaxed. They had so many fun locations planned for me. My favorite part of working with Moxie was how Karen and Madeline made the entire experience fun. My favorite photo is on the pier at the river. I love how Karen captured how I feel. Meet Avery. This stunning Moline senior met up with Madeline and I last fall for her session. We started downtown where we captured an urban vibe at a few different spots and then headed to a park where we were able to get a ton of different looks with flowers and a beautiful willow tree. When I saw that Avery played the guitar on her information sheet, I was super excited to incorporate it into some of her photos – and I LOVE the way that every one of the images came out!! If Avery was a rockstar, she would definitely have a ton of photo options for her album cover!!! After we left the park, we headed down to the river at sunset and experimented with some lighting and those are my favorite images from the shoot.

Here is a little about what Avery had to say about her session with Moxie: “From the very first emails discussing locations and outfits to receiving the final photographs, our experience was nothing short of exceptional. Karen’s insight and expertise in pairing outfits with locations were spot on. Her photography skills were truly impressive, as she captured breathtaking moments through a combination of well-chosen locations, creative poses, and skillful use of lighting. The entire process felt seamless and enjoyable, and the final images exceeded all of our expectations. We initially weren’t entirely sure what kind of location or overall vibe we wanted for the shoot, but Karen was instrumental in helping us narrow down our options. She guided us through different styles and themes and we ultimately decided on an urban setting to give the photos a modern and dynamic feel, while also incorporating a natural backdrop for added variety and contrast. Meet Caleb. We met up with Caleb and his awesome mom, Jennifer, last fall for his senior session. We were able to kick off his shoot at a beautiful golf course and were able to shoot in and around the clubhouse, which offered a ton of really amazing locations. Shout out to Jennifer for the malted milk ball surprise that she shared with Madeline and I – so delicious!! After leaving the club, we headed to the river where we were able to shoot at a location that was meaningful to Caleb, which I loved. We got some super amazing shots with his car and then ended the night at the PVHS pool. I wanted to make sure we got an action shot of Caleb diving off of the block and he nailed it on his first take!! So cool to see him in the pool, completely in his element. Jennifer and Caleb were so much fun to work with and I love that his final gallery has so much variety!

Here is a little about what Caleb had to say about his session with Moxie: “My session with Moxie Design was a memorable and great experience. I was comfortable while taking the photos and I felt that if I didn’t know what to do, Karen would help me and ensure that I would have a great outcome. Karen really knows what she is doing and talking about and will ensure that your photos are some of the best around. My biggest fear was that it was going to take too long and that they wouldn’t look the best. My favorite part was going to all the places we got to shoot at and the versatility of the experience. I also liked how Karen had so many ideas for pictures and could really come up with things on the spot which turned out amazing.  My favorite photo was the one with me looking at my “watch” in the doorway in the classy outfit or the one of me diving off the blocks. One of the most memorable parts of my session was going to take photos at some of my favorite places. I love Moxie Design because they have the best pictures around.”

One piece of advice that Caleb has for other seniors getting their photos taken? “Some advice I would give other seniors getting their photos done is to come into it with an open mind, I didn’t really want to get mine done, but they turned out amazing and I couldn’t have asked for any better.”

Meet Olivia. This Sherrard supermodel and I have gotten the chance to work together lots of times over the past year as she was a part of our Moxie model team for the Class of 2025! Olivia has a beautiful smile and the most gorgeous eyes!! Working with her for the first time at our editorial prom shoot last year was like working with someone who had just stepped off of the red carpet. Not only is she absolutely stunning, but she is super sweet and we have had a lot of fun together. During her main session, we started out at an urban setting and it worked perfectly with her outfits. Then we headed to a park area that had tons of different background options. I knew that Olivia wanted to end her session in the water at sunset, but the river was in a flood stage. We found an area that we could still have access and while we were taking some photos, a huge beaver shot up out of the water and Emma and I had no idea what it was at first and I remember screaming because it was so unexpected!! What a funny memory to have happen during Olivia’s big senior session day!!

Here is a little about what Olivia had to say about her session with Moxie: “Working with Moxie was great!! At first I was very nervous that I would be uncomfortable, but once I got there Karen was so welcoming! She helped me with poses and hyped me up the whole way through! Karen and her team had the best energy that made me feel very confident! I didn’t have a certain look in mind for the shoot, since all of my outfits were pretty different. However, even with that Karen made sure to pick backgrounds based on those looks! They all matched perfectly! I was worried I would be uncomfortable and not very confident. I get pretty anxious trying new things. After the first five minutes Karen made me feel confident in both my looks, and trying poses usually out of my comfort zone! The whole photo shoot experience was phenomenal. My overall favorite part was getting my hair and makeup done! This also helped my confidence level. The girls doing my makeup hyped up Moxie during our short interactions making me super excited to do my first shoot! My favorite picture is the one of me looking over my shoulder in my long colorful dress. It has so much dimension with the grass popping out and the background was perfect. One funny experience was when a beaver came out of the water right next to me! I also loved when Karen gave me snacks and a drink! She really pays attention to who she’s photographing and makes an instant connection. I definitely recommend working with Moxie! It is an experience you’ll never forget! I love Moxie Design because my experience with moxie far exceeded my expectations!”

One piece of advice that * has for other seniors getting their photos taken? “Poses that you may find silly in the moment can make the best photos! Be confident in what you’re doing and it will show through the pictures!”

Meet Aubrey. We met up with this Moline senior last fall for her senior session and from the very first test shot that I took, I was absolutely blown away. Aubrey is absolutely gorgeous and so sweet – we had a blast during her session! Her smile is amazing and her serious face was giving100% supermodel!! I loved the variety of her wardrobe looks – and the details like her blue sneakers that made her outfits pop. We were able to travel to a few locations that were all close together, so we got the best of both worlds – a cool urban / modern downtown area as well as a park with a stream that we were able to get into. The first teaser photo that I put up of Aubrey was published in Senior Szn Magazine, which is SO exciting!!

Here is a little about what Aubrey had to say about her session with Moxie: “My experience with Moxie was absolutely amazing. I was nervous going into the shoot about if I would be able to relax and make the photos look natural. As soon as I met Karen she made me feel so welcoming and was making me laugh to help me loosen up. Overall this experience was a 10/10. I was going for a nature and downtown look and Karen totally hit that straight on! My favorite part was how lighthearted and comfortable Karen made me feel and made me feel stunning! My favorite photo from the shoot was down in the stream because the lighting was perfect and I felt amazing. Meet Caden. We met up with this PV senior last summer for his senior session. He and his mom were both so great to work with! Caden photographs like a model, so we played around with some different lighting and at times it felt like we were on a commercial shoot for a clothing brand instead of a high school senior session! The best part of the afternoon was getting to see Caden in his element on the baseball field. We lucked out and had the most beautiful skies for this portion of the session – and one of the photos that we captured here was just recognized as one of the top images of 2024 by Senior Szn Magazine – how awesome is that?!!

Here is a little about what Caden had to say about his session with Moxie: “My senior photo session was an enjoyable experience. Karen was super easy to work with and had a great vision for the shoot. I was looking for natural looking shots in a casual setting. I was worried that the shoot would be long and exhausting, but Karen made it an enjoyable experience, and overall it was fun. My favorite part of the shoot was going to my high school baseball field and getting to pose for some cool athlete shots. My favorite photo was a baseball one that had a dramatic effect where Karen captured the sky in the background, which made the shot stand out. The most memorable part of the session was just getting to go to different settings. We started in a downtown area, then we took some shots in a park, and then we finished on my high school baseball field. This blend, I felt, created a lot of variety in the pictures. Karen and staff make the experience fun and easy. They were super easy to work with, and made the experience enjoyable and memorable.”

One piece of advice that Caden has for other seniors getting their photos taken? “Don’t be afraid to incorporate things that define who you are as a person.”

Meet Sydney. Working with this beautiful Moxie model and her family over the past year has been filled with lots of fun and laughter. The day of Sydney’s session, we had planned to end the shoot at sunset along the river – but the Mississippi was really high due to some flooding, so we had to pivot our final shots and it ended up being perfect! I love all of the photos from the shoots that we have had, but one of the silhouettes of her is one of my favorite shots – the colors in the sky were so amazing! I don’t think that if the river was at normal level if we would have been able to get a shot like this. It was so incredible to include some fun elements during Sydney’s session – bubbles, glitter and a cap and gown! We even got to work with her adorable brother, Trevor, in a few shots – I love their smiles!! Another fun moment was when we were at the park and we had dozens of pieces of sheet music and we threw them in the air for a photo – SO MUCH FUN!!

Here is a little about what Sydney had to say about her session with Moxie:
“I absolutely loved my senior session! While working with Karen beforehand, I was so unsure of what I wanted in my session. When Karen asked me where I wanted to shoot I had no idea!! She helped me to narrow down options and she was so helpful in deciding the locations that best fit the vision, outfits and items I wanted to incorporate! If you know me, you know I have a lot of different personalities! I love to get fancy and dress up so I knew I wanted a classy, stylish look. I am also so passionate about music (especially country) so, of course I had to add in a little country style. I love water and being by the beach. So, I wanted to include a sundress in as well! So instead of just having a “look”, I added every part of my personality into one session and Karen put it all together just the way I imagined 🙂 I was worried I was not going to get enough of a selection of pictures. I thought I would get a couple images per outfit and I ended up with a handful of them!! I wanted to be able to do “Senior Sundays” and I was worried I would only have a couple of images to use for these, but I have so many pictures that I actually do them all the time! I’m so impressed with almost every picture I received from Moxie and I am amazed how many images she was able to capture in the amount of time we had together. I loved how both Karen and Madeline were so supportive of every new idea my mom and I threw at them! Especially when I asked if I could I add my younger brother into some of the photos and they knew exactly how to do it! I loved getting to know Karen and Madeline and watching my vision come to light! 🙂 My favorite picture just makes me feel like myself. I am religious and it is a big part of my life so I loved being able to incorporate my love for the lord into my session. I loved the way Moxie makes all of my senior photos and sessions all about my passions and the person I am on the inside, not by the way I look through a camera lens.
I loved being able to incorporate my love for music by adding in a photo with it. My mom and Madeline tossed sheet music into the air while I stood and smiled. I loved watching Karen time everything out. It was such a load of laughter! I loved how much Karen and Madeline got me out of my comfort zone and had me try things I would have never thought about doing! I am so grateful to have had experienced photographers capturing my senior pictures and loved every minute! I love Moxie Design because Karen makes things so easy on their models and they turn your vision into reality!

One piece of advice that Sydney has for other seniors getting their photos taken? “Don’t be afraid to speak up! The Moxie Crew loves new ideas and the last thing they want is for you to be dissatisfied with your pictures. It is your senior session after all. So, speak up and don’t be afraid to throw new ideas at them. I know they would love to hear what you think :)”

Meet Marley. If you follow us on social media, you may recognize her as our Class of 2025 Moxie model who won the thrift store challenge! I loved that Marley was open to shooting some of her senior photos in locations that were totally unique and that she was up for every crazy suggestion that I had. We were able to capture a really cool vibe at the donut shop, then made our way to take some photos in the library as well as the theater at GHS – so cool!! I loved the time that we spent on the football field at GHS when Marley was playing the marimba – she even taught me a to play a little bit, which was really fun!! All of her photos captured her super cool vibe – we even got to get a shot with her and a scooter that is one of my favorites from her session. I love the variety of outfits and locations – it was an absolutely epic shoot. We got to spend some time with her entire family too, which only added to the awesomeness of the day!

Here is a little about what Marley had to say about her time with us: “My senior photo session experience was empowering and collaborative. I was just trying to have fun with the shoots using different locations and outfits. I loved having one of our locations in our local donut shop since it gave the shoot such a vintage and cool vibe. My biggest fear was working outside of my comfort zone, but I trusted the process–they even got me to wear a hat!  I loved how Karen and Madeline were able to capture my interests and activities including band, theater, and even some different poses in the library. The most memorable part of my session was trying different poses with the donuts and attempting a photo of me jumping mid air with two sprinkle donuts. Working with Karen was a super fun, creative, collaborative, empowering experience full of discovery and self-expression. I love Moxie Design because they are original, personal, and visionary.”

One piece of advice that Marley has for other seniors getting their photos taken? “Trust the process, be open to new ideas, and don’t be afraid to be yourself.”

Meet Irelyn. This Moxie beauty is a Moline maroon, representing the class of 2025. It has been so great to have Irelyn as a part of the Moxie model crew – she is the sweetest soul and has an incredible smile that lights up any room she steps into. We had a blast during her main session and got to explore so many different areas from the locker rooms and top of a basketball hoop at Wharton Field House, to a stream and flower garden and then some really cool urban spots downtown – where it started raining on us in the most scattered storm I have ever shot in. It would rain for thirty seconds and then stop, rain for two minutes, stop – on repeat for almost an hour. Irelyn and her awesome mom, Joie, smiled and laughed through it with us and we got to even capture a few shots with an umbrella to commemorate that memory! Here is a little bit about what Irelyn had to say about her time with us:

“My Senior photo shoot with Moxie was an unforgettable experience that perfectly captured this significant moment in my life. From the very beginning, Karen and Madeline made me feel so beautiful and comfortable and I was totally at ease. She even brought me my favorite treat and soda which was super nice because it was such a long day! Karen really understood my vision and did an incredible job choosing the most amazing locations and poses that couldn’t have suited me more perfectly. She captured stunning images that truly highlight who I am and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Overall it was a day I will never forget! I was going for some classic but fun looks that really represent me as a person. I didn’t want too many official looking poses or pics that look like they were just not me, and even though we threw in a couple of more “official” resume worthy poses, it worked great because you never know when you might need a good bio pic! I was worried I wouldn’t know what to do with myself and I would look awkward or stiff and not like myself but Karen is a wizard! She is such an expert at choosing how to pose and where to take a photo to get the exact perfect backdrop and every single photo looks natural and comfortable. I think my favorite part of the Moxie experience was being able to have mini shoots before and after the main session. It gave me so many more options for not only outfits but the weather and the themes and locations were so great to work with. The prom shoot was amazing because I didn’t get to go to prom my Junior year because my BF had a basketball tournament in Nebraska so I still got to pick out a dress and get all beautiful, then the thrift shop challenge was super fun because I hand painted some really cute jeans and then there was the sportrait addition, where I was able to show my love for cheer which is something I have done since I was three. Everything was my favorite!! I love them ALL so much!! If I had to pick one, it would probably be on e where I am in my cheer uniform, laying on my side on the gym floor. There’s something about the crystal clear reflection on the wood basketball court with the backboard way off in the distance that just kind of sums up some of my favorite high school memories. The most memorable part was being able to shoot some pics with a very subtile little hint of Lagomarcino’s in the background. That is a very special place to me because my grandma and great grandma and I used to have girl’s shopping days and we would go there to have egg salad sandwiches and ice cream. We would go on the last day of school for lunch and they always let me and my brother pick a treat to bring home I will always remember him getting these sweet tart lego block kind of candies! Being able to have those memory captured in my special pics is really special. I would…and HAVE….told everyone that it was the most amazing rockstar supermodel experience I could ever imagine in my wildest dreams! SO INCREDIBLE!! I love Moxie Design because Karen made me feel like the most beautiful, special girl in the entire world!

One piece of advice that Irelyn has for other seniors getting their photos taken? “I would say choose someone who you feel can really listen and understand what you are wanting to do. If you aren’t comfortable with the person behind the camera, you will not look good in front of it. Most of all, I would tell them to choose Moxie because there is no one else, this side of Chicago who can do what you can do!!” Thank you so much for the kind words, Irelyn!!

Meet Camille.
This PV senior and I have had an absolute blast working together over the past year!! When I first met Camille at the Moxie editorial prom shoot back in March, I was immediately blown away. She brought her supermodel A game and I was so excited to have her as a part of the Moxie model crew representing the Class of 2025. During Camille’s main senior session, we ended the night along the river, where we were able to capture some really amazing dance jumps in between the towers of the bridge – and that image was featured nationally (along with most every photo I’ve ever posted of Camille), which is incredible!

Here is a little about what Camille had to say about her session with Moxie:

“My experience with Moxie was amazing, I felt super comfortable the entire time and Karen really knows how to make you feel beautiful! I was going for a trendy cute look, with things that also match me and my style. I was most scared of not know how to pose and that I would look awkward, but they made me feel super comfortable and confident once we started and all of those feelings went away. My favorite part of my session was being able to just talk with Karen and Madeline and get to know them, I loved the relationship building part of it! My favorite photo is in my dance team uniform sitting on the stairs at my high school, this one is my favorite because I feel very pretty and everything about the picture is just perfect to me! The most memorable part of working with Moxie was being able to go to multiple areas with different scenery so that you can create a whole different look and vibe! I absolutely loved working with Moxie! I felt like the prettiest girl when I was with them, they make you feel so comfortable and important! I love Moxie Design because they made me feel so amazing inside and out.”

One piece of advice that Camille has for other seniors getting their photos taken? “Just go with the flow, you might think a pose is awkward but Karen would never make you do something that won’t look good so trust the process and loosen up.”

Meet Elizabeth. It has been so much fun getting to work with Elizabeth over the past year! Elizabeth is one of those people who is like sunshine in human form – she is so much fun to be around and whenever we work with her, the time absolutely flies by. During her senior session, I remember a few times where we were all laughing so hard that I had tears streaming down my face – what a wonderful memory to have! Not only is Elizabeth a sweetheart but she is absolutely stunning – her model face is incredible!! It was so much fun to match her outfits with different locations for her shoot – it gave her final gallery so much variety, which I absolutely love. One of my favorite photos from her session was one of the last shots we took of the day – it was sunset and we were alongside this beautiful building. Elizabeth was wearing a gorgeous dress and right at the perfect moment, a breeze blew in that gave her hair the most amazing swoop and she is rocking that photo like nobody’s business!

Here is a little about what Elizabeth had to say about her session with Moxie: “My senior photo session experience was a lot better than I thought it would be. I’m not a big picture gal but Karen made me feel gorgeous and confident no matter what pose or idea she was having me do! I was going for a lot of different outfits, some things I wear on a regular basis and others that I maybe wouldn’t wear as often. I have short hair due to a previous surgery and I was worried that it was going to stick up and look weird in my photos but using her magic Karen and the Haus of Heir made sure it would look amazing! My favorite part of my Moxie experience was Karen being so excited about my shoots and really knew how to hype me up. Emma was the best, she was the assistant during my senior shoot and talking with her was so easy and she was amazing. My favorite photo from the session is the photo of me laying down on the fountain in my senior session while I’m wearing pink shorts and the black top. I love how it turned out and how my smile looks! The most memorable part of my session was honestly just the fun I had during it. Karen made a few hours in the hot sun feel like 30 minutes! I highly recommend doing your senior pictures with Moxie Design! Karen and her assistants made me feel amazing during every shoot no matter what I was doing. I love Moxie Design because Karen and her team made me feel beautiful!!”

One piece of advice that Elizabeth has for other seniors getting their photos taken? “Go out of your comfort zone and do some different poses that you originally don’t think you would like!”

Meet Kyah. This Moxie girl and I actually met almost a decade ago when I took photos of her for a modeling portfolio and so I was thrilled when she applied to be a Class of 2025 Moxie model!! It has been so much fun reconnecting with Kyah and her awesome mom, Tara! Every time we get together for a shoot, we are always laughing and it just feels like we have been friends with both of them forever! On the day of Kyah’s main session, it was a super warm but windy day. We were lucky enough to be able to get on 4x4s and get a tour of this beautiful property with a stream and fields and barns – it was stunning! Then we hit up some spots downtown Geneseo and ended our night at the softball fields. Although it was a warm one, it was a perfect session!

Here is a little about what Kyah had to say about her session with Moxie: “My senior session with Moxie was AMAZING! Although it was really hot on the day of my photos, Karen & Maddy were absolutely the best to work with and made it the best day ever!!! Being a senior in high school only happens once so having Karen capture these memories will last forever! I’m incredibly blessed and grateful for Karen and will 100% have her take pictures of me again in the future. Highly recommend to anyone with an upcoming senior in their house! I wanted more of the nature type photos of landscapes around my neighborhood, including a creek down in the woods, tall grass fields in the middle of nowhere and around some old barns in my neighborhood. Can’t forget the softball ones at my home field! And just some random ones around cool spots downtown Geneseo. Getting my hair and makeup done by someone else was awesome! It was beautiful, flawless and stayed put together all day in the 96-degree temps! Haus of Heir rocks!!! Do I have a favorite photo from my sessions? Honestly not just one, any of the black & white photos are my favorites because even with no color you can see so much beauty in every photo. But if I had to pick just one outside of B&W it would be one of me in the creek, holding my beautiful bouquet from Cherry Creek Harvest with great RBF! Just book the session with Moxie! Have fun, be adventurous and be yourself. You will have the best time and wish you could do weekly sessions with Karen & Maddy! I love Moxie Design because of how comfortable they make you feel and how Karen gets to know you personally so the end result is everything you expected and more!”

One piece of advice that Kyah has for other seniors getting their photos taken? “Be yourself; choose things that make you feel comfortable but also do some shots that might make you feel uncomfortable for a great photo! And also, cherish some of your lasts as a senior.”

Meet Regan. This PV beauty has been a part of our Class of 2025 model team so we have had the pleasure of working with her a few times over the last year, which has been so much fun! I remember when I met Regan at our editorial prom shoot last spring – the first photo that I took, I was absolutely blown away! She is such a natural in front of the camera!! During her full senior session, the day was threatening to be a stormy, rainy one, but we thought why not give it a try and see what happens? It ended up to be perfect! We had to endure a few raindrops, but that actually turned into being a happy accident. We were hiking to this red bridge, and I got out a few umbrellas – one of which coordinated perfectly with the bridge! When we got all the way to the top where we were going to take the photos, it started pouring, but we also had sunrays peeking out from behind a cloud, we saw a rainbow – it was just such a magical moment – one I will never forget; and the photo that we took in that moment was featured nationally multiple times!

Here is a little about what Regan had to say about her session with Moxie: “My senior picture experience was phenomenal. I felt so supported by Karen and Madeline the whole time. Both of them were just so energetic and uplifting, and it boosted my confidence so much. I had no idea what I wanted my senior pictures to look like, but Karen did such a good job coming up with ideas and planning out a perfect look. I was worried that I would feel really awkward trying to pose for the pictures, but Karen came with plenty of ideas and consistently made me feel great about myself. My favorite part was probably getting to climb on a bus in a prom dress. When Karen told me the idea, I just absolutely loved it! I love Moxie Design because they are incredibly supportive and encouraging.”

Meet Anthony.  This Alleman senior and I have gotten the opportunity to work together over the past year and it has been a blast! Fun fact – I have known Anthony’s mom Amber for my entire life and Anthony and his sister were two of the first people that I was able to photograph when I started Moxie twelve years ago! Being able to catch up with both Amber and Anthony while capturing his senior photos has been really special. When we met up for Anthony’s full session, we were walking around a downtown area and the funniest thing happened – all of a sudden we heard someone talking to us, but it was from a speaker – I’m still not sure where it was coming from, or who it was, but it made for a hilarious and memorable moment to kick off his shoot.  Then we headed down by the river and captured some really cool shots, although, I will say, the bugs were TERRIBLE that day.  When we were on the soccer fields at sunset, I think we all were attacked by mosquitoes and gnats even though we were layering three different bug sprays!! Anthony was a trooper and absolutely rocked his session!

Here is a little about what Anthony had to say about his session with Moxie:

“I wasn’t exactly looking forward to hours of pictures on a hot, buggy day, but Karen made it so easy. She thought of everything to make it comfortable and efficient—snacks, drinks, bug spray, even a changing station. She had the route and timing planned out perfectly, and there were no issues at all. Plus, the pictures turned out amazing! She even worked my dog into the session, which was really cool. Overall, it was way better than I expected! I was going for a combination of outdoor, colorful photos along with some industrial looks and soccer. I was worried about having a forced smiling and cheesy poses. She asked me if I wanted to smile or look more serious. She listened to my wishes about looking more serious and did a few for my mom with me smiling. This made me more comfortable right away. She continued to ask me questions and she had a list of looks/locations/poses to suggest to keep me from getting overwhelmed. My favorite photo is the one with my dog where it is a close up of our faces. I will miss him the most when I am away at college. This is the best photo I have of us. The most memorable part of my session is that is was easy and that we took pictures in places that no one else gets their pictures taken. Also, that Karen has lots of ways and ideas to add effects. Karen’s cool. She has a lot of ideas, listens to what you want, and makes it easy. The pictures turned out so good!

Meet Elaina.
This beautiful Rocky senior met up with Madeline and I last summer and we kicked off her session at The Brewed Book (which, if you have never been there, you must check them out)!! We were able to capture Elaina’s love of reading at the book store and I am in LOVE with those images! Then we moved to the tennis courts at RIHS where she got to show us her incredible tennis skills. We ended her session at the most beautiful farm – and the flower bouquet that was made for her was out of this world! We had so much fun getting to know Elaina and her awesome parents during her session – we shared so many laughs and by the end of the night it was like we had made new friends!

Here is a little about what Elaina had to say about her session with Moxie:
“My senior session was absolutely amazing, I was so nervous about it being an awkward experience but it wasn’t like that at all. I was laughing, smiling, and I’ve never felt more comfortable in front of a camera in my whole life. I honestly didn’t have much of a game plan when I came into the shoot, I just knew I wanted pictures that captured me which is why I chose the three locations I did. When I got to my first location I was a little awkward, I wasn’t use to being in front of a camera and I was really nervous but the girls were hyping me up and just made me feel like they really cared about how my photos were going to turn out.  I feel like the pictures came out just how I imagined them being in my head. I was so nervous that I was making a weird face in my pictures, most of the time I was laughing along with the girls but it looked so natural and I ended up looking so happy. I loved the people, Karen and Madeline were so great, I truly had such a good time with them behind the scenes which made for such a great senior photoshoot experience. If you want to get your senior pictures done then you should 100% choose Moxie, the experience I had was so great and I love how my pictures turned out. I love Moxie Design because they’re just so amazing!”

One piece of advice that Elaina has for other seniors getting their photos taken? “Don’t be nervous, just be yourself and do whatever you want to in your photos. Show you through your photos.”
